Casinacho

★★★★☆ 4.3 Editor rating

Casinacho is one of those games that looks simple for about ten minutes and then quietly gets its hooks in you. The core loop is short and snappy: you tap to line things up, the screen reacts with cheerful animation, and a round wraps up before you've had time to overthink it. It's designed for the bus, the queue, the two minutes before your food arrives.

Controls are all single-touch, which I appreciated. There's no fiddly drag or precise swipe you can fumble. The rhythm of the game comes from timing your taps against what's happening on screen, and once it clicks you start chaining little successes together. The pacing ramps up gradually so you never feel thrown in the deep end.

Visually it leans into warm colours and a bouncy sound design that made me smile more than I expected. It's not a deep game and doesn't pretend to be, but as a pick-up-and-play title it does its one thing well. I kept coming back for a few rounds at a time, which is exactly the point.
