Cornering secrets in Neon Drift Rally

When I first booted up Neon Drift Rally I spent more time bouncing off barriers than racing. The trick, it turns out, is unlearning the instinct to brake into corners like a normal driver.

The game wants you to tap the drift just before the apex, then hold. Let go too early and you straighten out; hold too long and you spin. Finding that middle window took me a good hour, but once it clicked my lap times dropped dramatically.

Chaining drifts is where the real speed lives. If you exit one corner already set up for the next, you carry momentum through whole sections. The neon track lighting actually helps here, marking the ideal line if you watch for it.

Pick a lighter car while you're learning. The heavier ones look cool but they're less forgiving, and you want responsiveness while you build the muscle memory.

Once cornering became second nature, Neon Drift Rally turned from frustrating into one of my favourite quick-play games. Stick with it past the early frustration.
