Hollowreach

Hollowreach is the kind of game I want to recommend carefully, because part of its magic is not knowing too much going in. You wander a hushed, broken landscape, solving gentle environmental puzzles and piecing together what happened here. There's barely any text, and it doesn't need any.

The controls are simple movement and interaction, but the way the world unfolds kept pulling me forward. Every new area felt like it had a small secret waiting. I played most of it in one sitting with headphones on and didn't want it to end.

It's short by design, and that's a strength. It says what it wants to say and gets out. Easily one of the most memorable mobile experiences I've had this year.
